Forschungsschwerpunkte:
Azzi untersuchte die Mechanismen, durch die Vitamin E und Lycopin Prostatakrebs vorbeugen, und entdeckte den Transportträger für Asparaginsäure und Glutaminsäure in Mitochondrien.
Er untersuchte die Rolle von Vitamin E über seine antioxidativen Eigenschaften hinaus und hob dessen Bedeutung für die Zellsignalisierung, Genregulation und Krankheitsprävention hervor.
